Yad Chaya, Inc. was formed in the summer of 2001 and began
operations in September 2001. Yad Chaya was created to
address the needs of a large contingency of our Jewish
brothers and sisters in Israel and the United States.
It was designed to help those who find themselves faced
with life’s difficulties for any number of reasons.
In
its short history, Yad Chaya has received and distributed
over $2,000,000 in contributions. Please note that none
of the contributions received by Yad Chaya are spent
on overhead. Yad Chaya is run and operated completely
by volunteers and uses volunteer office space as its
headquarters.
The
following is a brief sampling of some of the activities
that Yad Chaya has engaged in since its inception:
Yad Chaya provides CHARITABLE GRANTS to
poor families who have difficulty making ends meet.
Yad Chaya has helped widows, orphans, large poor families,
poor students and others who need a helping hand.
Yad Chaya has a WEDDING AND BAR MITZVAH ASSISTANCE
PROGRAM that helps arrange the most basic requirements
of a Wedding or Bar Mitzvah for families who would otherwise
be unable to make such arrangements.
Yad Chaya has started a STUDENT MERIT FUND
that provides tutoring to students on either a proven
need basis or a merit basis.
Yad Chaya’s volunteers have been purchasing basic
necessities and making SHABBOS/HOLIDAY CARE
PACKAGES that are delivered by volunteers to
various destitute families for Shabbos and Holidays
on a need basis.
Yad Chaya has set up a HOLIDAY GRANT PROGRAM,
which provides much needed funds for families that would
otherwise be unable to afford basic necessities around
the holiday season. Many families have been able to
make the necessary holiday preparations without incurring
debt because of this program.
Yad Chaya has established a HOUSING ASSISTANCE
PROGRAM to help underprivileged families pay
their rent through Yad Chaya subsidies.
The YAD CHAYA FREE LOAN SOCIETY allows
those who are experiencing challenging times to get
back on their feet while still maintaining their dignity.
KEREN
CHAYA LEORA was established by Shmuel and Zahava
Nayman in response to the tragic loss of their 7 month old
daughter, Chaya Leora. Keren Chaya Leora was created to
address the need for diapers and other baby supplies
for poor families. In addition, Keren Chaya Leora will
also provide immediate assistance to new mothers who
cannot afford the basic necessities required when bringing
a newborn infant home from the hospital for the first
time. The fear that many mothers must have in bringing
a child home with few if any supplies - blankets, bottles,
pacifiers, pajamas, toys – is unimaginable.
Yad
Chaya has set up this website through which donations

All
contributions are tax deductible (Tax ID # 13-4180255).
